Emma "Jean" Jackson, 86, a 30 year resident of Fall River, Kansas, formerly of Wichita, Kansas, died Sunday, April 6, 2008 at her home in Fall River. She was born December 7, 1921 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Elmer Oscar and Hazel Beth (Rhoades) Oakman. On December 25, 1941 in Wichita, Kansas, she married Ray Jackson. He preceded her in death. Jean was a homemaker and worked for 15 years as a bookkeeper at Gene Upton Sign Company, retiring in 1976. She was a longtime member of the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia. Her hobbies included cooking, gardening, fishing, crocheting and crafting. Her Survivors include: One Son: Clinton R. Jackson of Louisville, KY Two Daughters: Karen S. Parsons of Fall River, KS Juanita L. Parsons of Wichita, KS One Sister: Mary Sisk of Oklahoma City, OK 7 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren In addition to her husband, Ray, she was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Elmer Jr, Lloyd and Larry; three sisters, Eleanor Horsley, Betty Sinclair and Joann Riggs; and one son-in-law, Danny Comstock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, April 11, 2008 at the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia with Pastor Gary Sherman officiating. Burial will be held at 3:30 P.M. on Friday in the Greenwood Cemetery in Wichita with Rev. Brian Beal officiating. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Thursday, 2:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be sent to the funeral home.
