Janice "Jan" R. Rucker

Janice R. “Jan” Rucker, 63, of Chanute, Kansas formerly of Cherryvale passed away Sunday February 2, 2020 at Heritage Nursing Home in Chanute.
Janice Rae Rucker was born February 2, 1957 in Coffeyville, Kansas the daughter of Ora Connie Moore. She grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1975.
On January 21, 2005 at Fayetteville, Arkansas she was united in marriage to Lynn Rucker and he survives at the home.
She worked in medical billing and accounts receivable most recently at Coffeyville Family Practice Clinic.
Jan enjoyed reading, crafts, sewing and was a loyal Kansas City Chiefs Fan right up to their win in the Super Bowl. She was an animal lover especially dogs and cats. She also liked to watch 20/20, Dateline and award shows on the tv.
She will be remembered for her love for her family and cherishing her time with her grandchildren.
She attended the Cherryvale Christian Church before moving to Chanute.
Survivors include her husband Lynn of Chanute, Kansas, mother, Connie Moore of Chanute, Kansas, son Ed Ellis Jr. and his wife Tonya of Chanute, Kansas, siblings, Diane Tarczynski and her husband Mike of Baldwin City, Kansas, Connie Engle of Columbia, Missouri, Gary Whetstine and his wife Geri of Plymouth, Michigan, 3 grandchildren, Jorden Ellis and his wife Kelsey, Brycen Ellis and Carsen Ellis.

The family will receive friends Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life of Jan’s Life will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 7, 2020 at Wickham Family Funeral Home.
Private family inurnment will follow later.
