Jackie “Jack” L. Scannel, 81, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Labette Health in Independence, Kansas.
Jackie Lee Scannel was born June 21, 1940, in rural Cherryvale, Kansas the son of Hal Fleenor and Eula Scannel. He grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont, Kansas in 1958.
On August 11, 1967, in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Sandra Mahaffey, and they later divorced.
Jack was a foreman at Vallis Wngroff Business Forms Company in Cherryvale for 20 years. He later worked security at John Deere in Coffeyville for many years.
Jack was an avid fisherman and enjoyed fishing at the surrounding lakes. He had many friends and liked spending time at Lake Tanko just hanging out. He also liked to play cards, hunt, cruise Cherryvale, visit and be plain onery.
Survivors include his two daughters, Taunja (Aaron) Hammerschmidt of Independence, Kansas, Tisha Ysusi of Independence, Kansas, 6 grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Dunham, Airaka Richardson, Avri Cornett, Lakan (Charlie) Rosenhover, Andre (Emmilee) Ysusi, Rylee Ysusi and 14 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Cremation has taken place under the guidance of Wickham Family Funeral Home 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335. Graveside services will take place at a later date.
