Jack L. Standiferd, a resident of Wichita, Kansas, formerly of Fredonia, Kansas died unexpectedly on Monday, March 23, 2009 at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita. He was born October 12, 1944 in Independence, Kansas, the son of E.O. and Helen E. (Sidlinger) Standiferd. Jack was retired from Lafarge Corporation in Fredonia, where he was a maintenance inspector. Jack was united in marriage to Rosemary Young. She survives at their home. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia. He also held memberships in Pheasants Forever, National Rifle Association, and the Boilermakers Lodge D-75. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Rosemary, include: One daughter: Marla Pryor of Blue Springs, Missouri One son: Jack Standiferd Jr. of Wichita, Kansas Two brothers: Thomas J. Standiferd of Beeville, Texas Richard Graff of Colorado Two grandchildren: Hunter and Hadley He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Renee Lynn Standiferd; three grandchildren, Michael Pryor Jr., Brooklyn Pryor, and Hannah Standiferd. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 30, 2009 at Timmons Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Jack"s name with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and donations may be sent to the funeral home. Words of condolence for the family may be left on this website.
