Irene Alice (Knowles) Benge

Irene Alice (Knowles) Benge, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died on the 8th day of August, 2018, at MorningStar Care Home in Neodesha, Kansas. She was born on February 12, 1940, in Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas to Claud Albert Knowles and Alice Edith (Block) Knowles. She made many friends during her term of 19 years serving as a dispatcher for Wilson County, Kansas, retiring in 2002. She was an avid and award winning bowler and her hobby was making and sharing crafts.

She is survived by nephews Barney L. Davis of Collinsville, Oklahoma and Edward Knowles of Augusta, Kansas, a sister-in-law Sandy Knowles of Altoona, Kansas, and several great nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ernest “Ernie” Edward Knowles, a sister Maxine Davis, and a niece Elizabeth “Charlie” Davis.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Gene Benefiel, officiating.
