Helen M. Bracken, 86, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 at the Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. She was born October 12, 1920 in Fordland, Missouri, the daughter of William C. and Naomi (Barton) Hill. She worked as a nurse"s aide at the Wilson County Nursing Home for several years. She also worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant and as a custodian at A.D.M. in Fredonia. On April 6, 1936 in Marshfield, Missouri, she married Clifford Bumgarner. He preceded her in death. In August of 1970, she married C.A. Bracken. He also preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church in Fredonia. Her hobbies included sewing and being an avid bowler. Her Survivors include: Three Sons: Raymond Bumgarner of Fall River, KS Jack Bumgarner of Clovis, NM Bob Bumgarner of Derby, KS Two Daughters: Marjorie Timmons of Fredonia, KS Sheryl James of Pittsburg, KS One Brother: Lois Hill of Marshfield, MO Five Sisters: Bonnie Holt of Marshfield, MO Annabelle Tolson of San Bernadino, CA Bernadine Reese of Concord, CA Shirley Copeland of Springfield, MO Wilma Morelock of Urbana, MO 14 Grandchildren; 38 Great Grandchildren; 13 Great-Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Pauline Hicks and one brother, James Hill. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at the Timmons Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gary Sherman of the First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the Alzheimer"s Foundation and may be sent to the funeral home.
