Gloria Jean Ratliff

Gloria Jean (Barney) Ratliff, aged 74, completed her earthly journey on April 10, 2024. Born on January 13, 1950, in Neodesha, Kansas, she was the cherished daughter of John Barney and Viola (Seller) Waldron.

A graduate of the 1968 class of Chanute High School, Gloria found her life's companion in Charles Ratliff, to whom she was united in marriage in 1969, in Chanute. She was a woman of faith who embraced the fellowship of her church and found pleasure in the simple joys of life such as quilting, painting, and tending to her garden.

Gloria's legacy continues through her beloved mother, Viola Waldron, a son, Jonathan Earl Ratliff, and his wife Glenda of Shell Knob, MO; her treasured grandchildren, Jonathan Charles William Ratliff and wife Jennifer of Jefferson City, MO, and Jordan Ratliff of Shell Knob, MO; along with her great-grandson, Jonathan Girard William Ratliff, of Jefferson City, MO.

Her gentle, fun, spirit rejoins those who have passed before her; her husband, Charles "Charlie" Ratliff; her son, Billy Earl Ratliff; her father, John Barney; and her sister, Rita Noland.

The family will receive friends and loved ones during a time of visitation on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas. The service will honor her memory through a graveside service following the visitation at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be directed to the Funeral home to assist with the funeral expenses. They can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
