Glennyce E. Knoles, 84, of Independence, Kansas passed away Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas.
Glennyce Eileen Knoles was born December 19, 1934 in Ellsworth, Kansas the daughter of Everett Schultz and Viola (Ruehling) Schultz. She grew up in Independence and graduated from Independence High School in 1952.
On July 10, 1954 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Independence she was united in marriage to Orven Ira Knoles and he preceded her in death April 3, 2013.
Glennyce worked for Union Gas in Independence as a Purchasing Agent for many years. She took some time off to become a stay at home mom until her children were old enough to go to school. She returned to work for Union Cities Gas at the same position and retired at the age of 62. She later worked part time for Service Office Supply in Independence.
She enjoyed cooking, cats, dogs and being with her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her strong Christian faith, love for her family and always buying gifts for family and friends.
Glennyce was a lifelong member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Independence.
Survivors include her 3 boys, Timothy Knoles and his wife Annette of Independence, Kansas, Greg Knoles of Olathe, Kansas, Mark Knoles and his wife Michelle of Winfield, Kansas, 2 sisters, Jolene Schultz of Washington, Missouri, Cordelia Mueller and her husband Michael of Townsend, Massachusetts, 6 grandchildren, Katie Knoles, Sean Knoles and his wife Hannah, Eric Knoles, Emma Knoles, Sarah Knoles, Onna Knoles and 1 great granddaughter, Ava Knoles.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the Zion Lutheran Church.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Zion Lutheran Church with Reverend Kevin Peterson, officiating.
Interment will follow the service at the Lutheran Cemetery in Independence.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Zion Lutheran School Tuition Assistance Fund and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
