Geneva Pearl Louia

Geneva Pearl Louia, 83, a longtime resident of Altoona, Kansas died Friday, December 3, 2010 at Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, Kansas. She was born March 11, 1927 in Fairfax, Oklahoma, the daughter of Aaron McCord and Pearl Elizabeth (Gallatin) Haines. On April 1, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, she was married to Fred E. Louia. She and Fred made their home on the farm outside of Altoona for many years and enjoyed traveling to Arizona for extended stays. Fred preceded her in death April 16, 2006. For several years, she was employed as a CNA at St. Margaret"s Mercy Hospital in Fredonia and Golden Keys Nursing Home in Neodesha. She also worked at Barb"s Casuals in Fredonia and drove a school bus in the Altoona school district for many years. Throughout Geneva"s life, she enjoyed spending time with her family, doing crafts, traveling with her husband and playing the slot machines. Geneva"s survivors include: Three daughters: Sharon Pratt of Altoona, KS Joyce Ayers of Altoona, KS Kathy Louia of Burlington, KS Three sisters: Louise Keck of Mulvane, KS Virgie Marie Haines of Ponca City, OK Beulah Lorraine McNary of Augusta, KS Two brothers: Franklin Haines of Fairfax, OK Max Aaron Haines of Fairfax, OK Eleven grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Her parents; two sons, Darrell Louia and Jimmy Dean Louia; one great granddaughter, Ali Pratt; four brothers; and two sisters also preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 6, 2010 at the Altoona Cemetery with Pastor Jim Raymond officiating. The family will receive friends at the Verdigris Valley Christian Fellowship in Altoona prior to the graveside, from 10:00 A.M. until Noon. A memorial has been established in Geneva"s name with the Altoona Cemetery Association and can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home. Family condolences may be left on this website.
