Gary David Martin Sr.

Gary David Martin Sr., 79, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022. Gary was born December 19, 1942, to David Martin and Hazel Irene (Crane) Maxwell in Dodge City, Kansas. He attended Derby High School graduating in 1960.

On September 9, 1961, Gary was united in marriage to Patricia A. Schuster, she survives at the home.

Gary served in the United States Navy after high school and was later honorably discharged.

He worked as a Quality Engineer at Standard Motors in Independence, Kansas.

He enjoyed golfing, fishing, dancing, and having a good time. He loved being around people and they loved being around him. He was a member of the Fredonia Golf Club and the American Legion.

Gary is survived by his wife, Patricia, his children; Terri (Chuck) Ruland, Wichita, Kansas, Shari (Tom) Martin, Kansas City, Missouri, David (Terisa) Martin, Fredonia, Kansas and Troy (Paige) Martin, Austin, Texas, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, David and Hazel, sisters; Oudia Dyer and Patricia Harrington, brother; Frank Maxwell, granddaughter; Christina Kilgore, and stepfather; Raymond Maxwell.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736

Services will be held 2:00pm, Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
