Gale E. Puckett, 67, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Sunday, Jun 18, 2017 at his home.
Gale Edwin Puckett was born July 26, 1949 in Neodesha, Kansas the son of Christopher Deon Puckett and Lois Maxine (Timmons) Puckett. He grew up in Fredonia and graduated from Fredonia High School in 1967.
After graduation he served with the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
Gale was united in marriage to Twila Miller in Fredonia, Kansas and they later divorced.
He worked at Fall River Lake-Tulsa District United States Army Corps of Engineers as their maintenance supervisor and retired in 2012.
Gale enjoyed arrowhead hunting, playing poker, watching western movies and working on guns.
His dachshund dog, Jeanie was his buddy. He called her his dash hound because she rode on the dash when she accompanied him in his truck.
Gale will be remembered as a good father who was very proud of his daughter, Kourtney.
He lived his entire life in Fredonia and was a member of the VFW.
Survivors include daughter, Kourtney Puckett of Merriam, Kansas, step daughter, Taryn Owen of Gardner, Kansas, mother, Maxine Campbell of Chanute, Kansas, step mother, Dorothy Puckett of Wichita, Kansas, sister, Lyla Masterson of Pittsburg, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by his father and brother Rodney Puckett.
Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, June 23, 2017 at Wickham
Family Funeral home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas with Gene Benefiel, officiating.
Interment will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to Fredonia Pound Pals and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
