Fred "Buckshot" E. Jones

Fred "Buckshot" E. Jones, 78, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at his residence with family by his side.Fred E. Jones was born March 11, 1938 in Independence, Kansas the son of Roy E. Jones and Gertrude E. (Hull) Jones. He grew up in Cherryvale and graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1957.He was united in marriage to Wanda Barnett and they were later divorced. He was united in marriage to Pauline Tipton and she preceded him in death.Fred worked in the oil drilling business throughout his life.He loved to fish, hunt, camp, going to the caf", talking with old friends, going to auctions and garage sales. He will be remembered for his kindness and many friends he had.Fred was a member of the Cherryvale Eagles, Cherryvale Masonic Lodge, Cherryvale Elks Lodge and New Hope Christian Church.Survivors include, daughter, Rhonda Michelle Jewett and husband Tom of Cherryvale, Kansas; step children, Michael Cannon of Independence, Kansas, Bob Ulses of Garnett, Kansas, Marcy Ulses of Virginia; sister, Joyce Buck of Cherryvale, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.Celebration of Life Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, June 18, 2016 at New Hope Christian Church with Gerald Zuck, officiating. Friends may sign the register book from 12Noon until 8:00 P.M. Friday, June 17, 2016 with family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. at Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale.Private family interment will take place at a later date.
