Frank Howard, 76, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at his home with family by his side.
Charles Frank Howard was born July 19, 1941 in Independence, Kansas the son of Calvin Howard and Eloise (Slaten) Howard. He graduated from Independence High School in 1959.
On January 24, 1977 in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Sandra L. Stillwell and she survives at the home.
Frank was self-employed in his early years working at Howards Farm and Auto in Fredonia.
Frank later worked for the City of Fredonia as the Park Supervisor retiring after 14 years. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and piddling in the yard. He also was good with his hands and had raced cars when he was younger.
Frank was a man of few words and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need.
Survivors include wife Sandra of the home, children, Richard Howard and his wife Mary Jo of Coffeyville, Kansas, Terri Botts and her husband Tim of Independence, Kansas, Deanna Spencer and her husband Michael of Anchorage, Alaska, Ronny Howard and is wife Angela of Independence, Kansas, siblings, Calvin Howard and his wife Judy of Fredonia, Kansas, Becky Bohr of Independence, Kansas, Sharon Maxwell and her husband Lee of Kansas City, Kansas, Jim Howard and his wife Cathy of Fredonia, Kansas, 21 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughters, Lisa Letterman and Cheryl McKee.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Fredonia City Cemetery.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Shriners Hospitals for Children and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
