Francis Chance

Francis (Frank) Chance, 81, of Benedict, Kansas, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2009 in Chanute, Kansas. Frank was a decorated veteran of W.W.II where he received a purple heart and honorable discharge on November 19, 1947. Frank was a retired stone mason and an avid woodworker who enjoyed making fine furniture for family and friends. He is survived by: Two daughters " Kathy Chance & Johnny Watts of Mobile, Alabama Francine Chance of La Cyne, KS One son - Danny Chance of Benedict One sister - Lucille Brouhard of Kansas City, KS One brother Kenneth Chance of Lathrop, MO One daughter at heart Tammy Knowles of Yates Center, KS Three Grandchildren Two Great Grandchildren Graveside services will be held Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Weakley Cemetery near New Albany, Kansas, with Rev. Gene Benefiel officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the V.F.W. of Fredonia and Neodesha. Timmons Funeral Home in Fredonia, Kansas is in charge of arrangements.
