Floyd A. Timmons, 96, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Via Christi-St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. Floyd Andrew Timmons was born August 17, 1920 in Fredonia, Kansas the son of Joseph Philip Timmons and Bertha (Kidd) Timmons. He grew up in Fredonia and attended Clark School in Fredonia. He was united in marriage January 10, 1943 to Eulalia "Jean" Smith and she preceded him in death in 1999. He was later united in marriage to Marjorie Bumgarner and she survives at the home. Floyd worked as a farmer his entire life and was an innovator. Floyd"s favorite hobbies were playing pool with his buddies, flying drones, riding his Segway to get his mail and loved computers. He also was a ham operator and collected model trains. He was very progressive farmer and the hardest working person you would ever know. He was a pilot and he later received his Helicopter License when he was 69 years old. Floyd used his Polaris Ranger as a wheel chair to give rides to his grandkids. He also is known for building the rocket at the park in Fredonia. Floyd was a member of the Fredonia First United Methodist Church, Parsons Amateur Radio Club, Soil Conservation Board for 18 years and Wilson County Farm Bureau. Floyd is survived by his wife Marjorie of the home, three sons, Charles Timmons and his wife Linda of Wichita, Kansas, Bob Timmons and his wife Rebecca of Fredonia, Kansas, Mike Timmons and his wife Patti of Fredonia, Kansas, son in law Leo Noland of Longton, Kansas, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Noland, two brothers, Howard Austin Timmons, Paul Edwin Timmons. Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Fredonia First United Methodist Church. The family will greet and receive friends 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Monday, November 14, 2016 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 North 7th Street, Fredonia, Kansas . Interment will be held in Fredonia City Cemetery. Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Fredonia First United Methodist Church and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
