Ernest A. Boice

Ernest A. Boice, 80, a resident of Mesa, Arizona, formerly Fredonia, died Wednesday, September 6, 2006, at the Banner Baywood Heart Hospital in Mesa. He was born December 5, 1925 in Oswego, Kansas, the son of David J. and Cora E. (Davis) Boice. He served in the United States Navy for 20 years. Following his Naval career, he worked for Burke-Midwestern Litho in Fredonia. Ernest was married to Ruth Neese. She preceded him in death July 27, 1990. He later married Betty L. Ross. She survives at their home in Mesa. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Betty, include: One daughter Carol Bannon of Rose Hill, KS One son Gary Boice of Yates Center, KS One step-daughter Treasure Cowain of Mesa, AZ One sister Oneita Boice of Fredonia, KS One brother: Alva Boice of Fredonia, KS Three grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 1 step great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Maoma Boice and one brother, Gilbert Boice. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at the Fredonia City Cemetery. A memorial has been established with the American Lung Association and donations may be sent to the funeral home.
