Elias Savala

Elias Savala, 79 of Ottawa, Kansas, passed away on May 5, 2024, at his daughter's home. He was born on March 14, 1945, in Chanute, Kansas, to his loving parents Ralph and Maria (Perez) Savala. Elias attended Chanute Schools and dedicated many years of service to the Union Pacific Railroad until his well-deserved retirement.
 
Known for his joyful spirit, Elias cherished singing for the Lord and treasured moments spent with his family. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
 
Elias is survived by his daughters Joey (Scott) Roatch and  Mary (Jonathan) Sproule of Ottawa, Kansas; his brother Tony Savala of California; grandchildren Elizabeth Jones, Elisha Carlson, Jamin Sproule, and Jonah Sproule; as well as great-grandchildren Ava, Jace, and Cassidy Jones.
 
He is preceded in death by his parents and is now reunited with his sisters Gloria, Lydia, and Sarah, along with his brothers Felix and David.
 
With a legacy of love and laughter, Elias Savala will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.

Memorials are suggested to the Healing Center Church of God and can be left with or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home 500 North Forest Ave. Chanute, Kansas 66720.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Healing Center Church of God, 35^th and Plummer, Chanute, Kansas, with a Celebration of Life Memorial Service to follow at 10:00 a.m.

Inurnment will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.
