Eleanor F. Engstrom, 85, a resident of Toronto, Kansas, died Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at the Harry Hynes Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center. She was born February 25, 1921 in rural Yates Center, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Esther (Stockebrand) Bauersfeld. She was a graduate of Yates Center High School. She retired in 2002 as a self-employed dairy farmer. On October 4, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas, she married Carl R. Engstrom. He preceded her in death June 13, 1994. She was a member of the Yates Center Methodist Church; Golden Star Chapter 173; American Angus Association; Kansas Angus Association; and served as a 4-H Foods Leader for many years. Her Survivors include: Two Daughters Carolyn Schlotterbeck of Toronto, KS Marilyn DeSoto of Toronto, KS One Sister Mildred Weisenberger of Toronto, KS One Brother LaVerne Bauersfeld of Yates Center, KS One Brother-In-Law Gus Engstrom of Fredonia, KS 5 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren Funeral services will be held at 10:00A.M. on Monday, August 7, 2006 at the Toronto United Methodist Church with Pastor Karen Jesseph and Rev. Jim Uhlig officiating. Burial will be in the Carlisle Cemetery, near Toronto Lake. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, 4:00 P.M.-5:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in her name with the Toronto United Methodist Church and the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be sent to the funeral home.
