Elberta M. Follick

Elberta M. Follick, 84, a longtime resident of Altoona, Kansas, died Friday, May 29, 2009 at Trinity Rehab and Nursing Center in Merriam, Kansas. She was born June 11, 1924 in Crawford County, Kansas, the daughter of William R. and Eva May (Holtsclaw) Collins. On June 3, 1942 in Fredonia, Kansas, she married Charles E. Follick. He preceded her in death October 20, 2002. Bertie and Charles moved to Wichita after their marriage, where they raised their family. Everyone in the Follick family worked at Cessna Aircraft for a number of years. Bertie also worked part-time as a waitress and sold Avon. After Charles retired from Cessna, they returned to Altoona to enjoy their retirement. Bertie was a fun-loving, generous mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. Bertie"s survivors include: One son and daughter-in-law: Larry P. and Cheryl Follick of Kansas City, KS One daughter: Vickie L. Follick of Manitou Springs, CO One brother: Loren Collins of Altoona, KS Five grandchildren and four great grandchildren She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Paul Collins. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Altoona Cemetery with Pastor Jim Raymond officiating.
