Eddie Lee Trimmell, 64, a long-time resident of Coyville, Kansas, died Saturday, November 8, 2008 at his home in Coyville. He was born November 1, 1944 in Wichita, Kansas, the son of Dale M. and Jessie (Steele) Trimmell. He was a 1962 graduate of Coyville High School. Following high school, he served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Korea. Eddie owned a cow/calf operation. He was a retired county road maintenance man for Wilson County and Salt Spring Township in Greenwood County. He also helped to construct John Redmond Dam and the Elk City Dam. Eddie had been a mechanic and an over-the-road truck driver during his working years. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W., as well as volunteering with the Wilson County Rural Fire District. Currently he was active on the Coyville Cemetery Board. His survivors include: Five Sisters: Carolyn Reaves of Friendswood, TX Marilyn Kidd of Fredonia, KS Beverly Moorhead of Fredonia, KS Roberta Dickey of Lenexa, KS Donna Wamsley of Wichita, KS One Brother: Darryl Westerfield of Wichita, KS Several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, November 11, 2008 at the Coyville Christian Church with Rev. Bob Whitaker officiating. Private family burial will be held at the Coyville Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name with Coyville Cemetery Association and may be sent to the funeral home.
