Dwayne "Dee" Lee Miller, 78, of Pleasant Valley, Missouri, formerly of the Benedict and Coyville, Kansas area, died June 5, 2011 at the North Care Hospice House in North Kansas City, Missouri. Dee and his twin brother, Wayne, were born December 16, 1932 to George Kenneth "Kack" Miller and Virgie May (Cain) Miller in Coyville, Kansas. Dee married Carol June Shoaf on February 17, 1956, and to this union two daughters were born, DeEtta June and Marina Kay. Dee was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol June; his daughter, DeEtta; and grandchildren, Molly and Joseph. Dee married Janice Adams Miller on November 2, 1996. Dee served in the United States Air Force, 1953-1956, and retired from Delta Airlines after 30 years. He was a member of the Towerview Baptist Church in Kansas City, and the Benedict Masonic Lodge. Dee is survived by his wife, Janice, of the home; his daughter, Marina (Alan) Barker and grandson, Garrett Alan Barker, of Claycomo, Missouri; one step-daughter, Kelli (David) White and six step-sons, Michael (Anna Dell) Scott, Mark Scott, Patrick Scott, Stephen (Amber) Scott, Aaron (Stephanie) Scott and Anthony Scott; his grandchildren, Brooklyn, Tyler and Isabella White, Kole and Ashlyn Scott, Tucker and Zoe Scott and Emma and Katherine Scott. He is also survived by his brothers: his twin, Wayne D. Miller of Fredonia, Kansas; Earl L. (Barbara) Miller of Benedict, Kansas; Charles Robert (Peggy) Miller of Claremore, Oklahoma and one sister, Arline Miller Guenther of Benedict, Kansas; his nieces and nephews and other family who loved him. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the Coyville Cemetery with Rev. David Schanuel officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, 5:30-7:00 P.M. at Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia, Kansas. A memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at the Towerview Baptist Church, 7301 NE 50th St, Kansas City, Missouri. A memorial has been established in Dee"s name with the Towerview Baptist Church and memorials may be sent to the funeral home or to the church address listed above.
