Dorothy Puckett

Dorothy Puckett, 90, formerly of Fredonia, passed away, August 14, 2020, in Mulvane, Kansas. Dorothy was born March 20, 1930 in Alva, Oklahoma to Roy Samuel and Mary Ellen (Purcival) Fender. She grew up in Alva, Oklahoma and graduated from Alva High School.

She was united in marriage to Deon Puckett August 22, 1970, he preceded her in death on February 21, 1996.

Dorothy enjoyed fishing, gardening, flowers and cows. She worked for the USD #484 school district as a cook for many years.

She was a member of Grace First Assembly of God Church in Fredonia, Kansas.

She is survived by her sons, Roy Gum of Derby, Kansas, Ron Gum of Topeka, Kansas, daughters, Mary Williams (Kerry) of Emporia, Kansas, Deb Leon of Emporia, Kansas, sister, Judy DeVine of Freedom, Oklahoma and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Deon, daughter, Patricia Toalson, sister, Imogene Peterson and brothers, Bill Fender and Bob Fender.

Celebration of Life services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 22, 2020 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th Fredonia, Kansas.

Interment will follow in Fredonia City Cemetery.
