Dorothy Jane Harshaw

Dorothy Jane Harshaw, 82, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Saturday, October 7, 2006 at Beverly Health & Rehab in Fredonia. She was born October 21, 1923 in Craig County, Oklahoma, the daughter of Bert Eli and Jessie May (Nicholson) Harper. She was retired from State Bank of Fredonia where she had been a secretary for 23 years. On July 5, 1942 in North Augusta, South Carolina, she married Maurice R. Harshaw. He survives at their home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia and the United Methodist Women, as well as the Women"s Mutual Benefit Club, Women"s Investment Group and the F-Stop Club. Dorothy also served on the Board of Trustees for Youthville Survivors, in addition to her husband, Maurice, include: Two Daughters: Gail J. Harshaw of Fredonia, KS Susan Kissinger of St. Louis, MO One Sister: Fannie L. Foust of Bluejacket, OK Seven Grandchildren Three Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, M. Robert Harshaw; and one daughter, Sally J. Selk. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at 2:00P.M. on Sunday, October 15, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Charlotte Coates officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial in her name with the First United Methodist Church Youth Program and contributions may be sent to the funeral home.
