Doris Rae (Glassburn) Regan, 82, of Fredonia, passed away at 1:43 p.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at her son’s home.
Born November 13, 1936 in St. Paul, Kansas to Lester Clyde and Georgia Corrine (Martin) Glassburn, she married Raymond Laverne Boden in October, 1955 in Vicksburg, Mississippi. She later married Robert Lee Regan, Sr. in August 1968 in Miami, Oklahoma. They later divorced.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five siblings, Johnnie, Leon and Bernard Glassburn, Ethel Elder and Clydine Kukovich and her daughter-in-law, Kathy Boden.
Surviving are one daughter, Terri (Chuck) Farwell of Fredonia; four sons, Daryl (Sheena) Boden of Bushnell, Illinois, Darwin Boden of Fredonia, Travis (Julie) Regan of Pekin, Illinois and Troy (Emily) Regan of Fredonia; one step-daughter, Rita Regan of Wellsville; one step-son, Robert (Kay) Regan, Jr. of Ottawa; 13 grandchildren, Ty Boden, Josh (Amber) Boden, whom she helped raise, Hayes (Taylor) Farwell, Blaine Regan, Mali (Cody) Boss, Haili Regan, Zach Boden, Cambria Regan, Meadow Boden, Sam George, Carlee Regan, Jake George and Allie George; five great-grandchildren, Shawn Waters, Grace, Gavin and Graydin Boden and Myla Farwell and one sister, Eula (Cleo) Morrow of San Jacinta, California.
Doris had worked at LaDow & Spohn as a folder for 30 years, retiring in 2014. She also worked as a waitress for many years in the community at The Mainliner, Country House and Rocky Ridge.
A loving, caring and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Doris’ family was most important to her. She was her grandchildren’s biggest cheerleader. She’ll be remembered for her hardworking nature, willingness to put others ahead of herself and her enthusiasm for bingo and good slot machines.
Doris was known by many as the “15th Street Mom”, for her her great cooking and willingness to make sure that countless friends of her children were fed, even if it meant she went to bed hungry.
A private family gathering celebrating Doris’ life will be at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Wickham Family Funeral Home in Fredonia.
A special heartfelt thank you to her son, Dar, who gave her the most exceptional care and gave us all several additional years to cherish.
