Donald Wilbur Dunn Sr., 70, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, and formerly of Auburn, New York, died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his home in Fredonia. He was born June 2, 1935 in Baldwinsville, New York, the son of James Leon and Ella M. (Sayre) Dunn. He served in the United States Army 1952-1960. He drove a truck for Ruan Transportation for 23 years, retiring in 1996. He was married to Jacqueline S. Gerardin. They were later divorced. On May 14, 1993 in Miami, Oklahoma, he married Virginia Frisbie. She survives at their home. He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W.; Teamsters Union; and American Legion. He loved fishing, camping and animals. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Virginia, include: Three daughters & spouses: Ann & Greg Fitzmorris of Fredonia, KS; Bobbie & Ken Burris of Derby, KS; Suzie & Gary Peters of Shaw, KS; Three sons & spouses: Jim & Lori Dunn of Macon, IL; Don Jr. & Jill Dunn of Sycamore, KS; Steve & Sandra Dunn of Fredonia, KS; Two step-daughters & spouses: Patty and Tony Easter of Haughton, LA; Brad & Beth Zweifel of Western Kansas; Two brothers & spouses: Robert & Hazel Dunn of Port Byron, NY; Edward & Donna Dunn of Red Creek, NY; Two sisters & spouses: Dorothy & Al Mario of Venice, FL; Sally & Larry Seery of Gladewater, TX; His mother-in-law: Vera Frisbie of Fredonia, KS; 18 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and Gomer, his dog. He was preceded in death by his brother, J. Marvin Dunn and his sister, Pearl Gregory. Memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Max Dawson of the Bible Baptist Church Officiating. Military rites will be conducted by Ft. Riley Military Base. Memorial donations may be made to the Fredonia VFW, Fredonia American Legion or the Avenue of Flags.
