Diantha L. Hanson

Diantha L. Hanson, 82, of Lawrence, Kansas formerly of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away at 6:27 A.M., Friday, March 30, 2018 at Brandon Woods at Alvamar in Lawrence.
Diantha Lou Hanson was born February 7, 1936 in Columbus, Kansas the daughter of Kenneth Headley and Martha (Tarr) Headley. She grew up and attended Cherryvale Schools and was a proud graduate of Cherryvale High School in 1953.
On June 6, 1954 in Cherryvale she was united in marriage to Tom Harrell and they later were divorced.
She was later united in marriage to Bob Hanson December 26, 1976 in Cherryvale and he preceded her in death August 5, 2005.
Diantha worked at Peoples State Bank in Cherryvale. She later was employed at Community National Bank in Cherryvale and retired after many years.
She loved to travel and covered all 50 states and a few other countries. She also enjoyed cross stitching, playing the piano, sports and reading.
Diantha was a member of the Cherryvale United Methodist Church and later on First United Methodist Church in Independence, Kansas.
Survivors include her children, Marla Schinstock and her husband Bill of Lawrence, Kansas, Susan Murphy and her husband Jack of Hollister, Missouri, Connie Johnston and her husband Troy of The Woodlands, Texas, grandchildren, Erin Patrick and her husband Sam, Jordan Golson and her husband Tucker, Susan Schinstock, Sydney Johnston and great grandson, Graham Patrick.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob.
Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale with Pastor Lex Fox, officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday April 3, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Alumni Association and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
