Delores Ann Moody

Delores Ann Moody, 74, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas and longtime resident of Erie, Kansas died Monday, January 21, 2013 in Fredonia. She was born July 26, 1938 in Odense, Kansas, the daughter of Loren Cecil and Roberta Pearl (Mintz) Trammell. In January 1955, Delores married John Ivan Handrich and they were later divorced. On July 1, 1966 in Erie, she was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Moody. Together they owned and operated their family farm for more than 30 years. Donald preceded her in death February 26, 2003. Delores was a lifetime member of both the American Legion Auxiliary and the Women"s International Bowling Congress. For years she baked pies and worked at both the Parsons and Chanute Sale Barns. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren"s ballgames and was a regular Friday night spectator of Fredonia Yellowjacket activities. Her survivors include: Two daughters: Sandra Marie Mercer of Independence, KS Donna Boss of Fredonia, KS Eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and two great grandchildren on the way. Her parents, Loren and Roberta Trammell; daughter, Kathryn Diane Cheney; granddaughter, Gina Rene Byrd; and brother, Neil Clinton Trammell preceded her in death A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Timmons Funeral Home. Memorials have been established in Delores" name with the Fredonia High School Athletic Department and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and can be sent to Timmons Funeral Home.
