Debra A. Hendryx, 67, of Fall River, Kansas passed away Monday evening at her home.
Debra Ann Hendryx was born January 13, 1951 in Joplin, Missouri the daughter of Clifton G. Lumbley and Mary Ellen (Drumeller) Lumbley. She attended schools in Baxter Springs, Kansas and moved to Cherryvale when she was a senior graduating in 1969.
She was united in marriage in 1978 at Miami, Oklahoma to Dennis Hendryx and he preceded her in death October 31, 2000.
Debra attended Independence Community College and graduated from Pittsburg State University with a degree in Nursing.
She worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Tucson, Arizona, Carthage, Missouri and Miami, Oklahoma.
Debra enjoyed going to garage sales, flea markets, feeding birds and loved to read.
She will be remembered for her love for her family and the family provider of never forgetting a birthday or holiday card.
She was a member of the Fredonia Public Library.
Survivors include her mother Mary Ellen Lumbley of Independence, Kansas, sister, Barbara Ellen Long and her husband Joe of Cherryvale, Kansas, brother, Steven Lee Lumbley and his wife Penny of Cherryvale, Kansas, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and great great nieces and great great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father and husband.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335. Following the visitation, a memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M.
Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to AWOL and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
