David Terrance Littell, age 68 of Cherryvale, KS, passed away, losing his battle with cancer, on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at his home in Cherryvale, KS.David was born on February 15, 1948 in Independence, KS. He was the only son of John and Imogene (Ragen) Littell. He was raised in Cherryvale, KS, where he attended the local schools and graduated from Cherryvale High School and attended Independence Junior College.He was united in marriage to Sherree Hamilton on September 2, 1967. They celebrated 49 years of love, marriage and adventure together. They raised two children, a son, Terry Patrick Littell, and a daughter, Krissy Jenea Littell.David was known for his many talents, musician, antique collector, artist and sense of humor. He was best known for his love of music.Starting at a young age, his talent for drumming had him playing in many of the rock bands in the southeast Kansas area.David worked for the Independence Daily Reporter as a pressman for 10 years before working for Hackney and Sons of Independence, KS, as a welder for 33 years until his retirement due to ill health.David was an avid collector of military antiques of World War I and World War II. His collection was known throughout the Southeast Kansas area. He loved spending hours trading and bartering with the many friends he made over the years, talking and examining their newest finds. He loved to spend hours researching his treasures in his beloved "caboose" surrounded by his books and music.David lived life to a different beat to the fullest. He loved his family and this was shown by the devotion he showed his wife, Sherree, and kids. His children and granddaughter are his pride and joy.David was preceded in death by his father, John J. Littell, grandparents and one brother-in-law.He is survived by his wife, Sherree Littell, of the home, mother, Imogene Littell, of Cherryvale, Kansas,"one son, Terry Patrick Littell-Brodman and spouse Jonathan Littell-Brodman of Dearing, Kansas, one daughter, Krissy (Littell) Reister and spouse Troy Reister of Cherryvale, Kansas; Four granddaughters; Jaimee Sharee (Littell) Sawrey of the United Kingdom, Jete" Johnee Littell, Jazze Jeannine Reister and Jailee Jenee Reister of Cherryvale, Kansas.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book form 12Noon until 6:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 5:00 - 6:00 P.M.Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery.Memorial remembrances are suggested to AWOL and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
