David Floyd Salmon, 95, a longtime resident of Benedict, Kansas, formerly of Wellsville, Kansas, died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. He was born January 10, 1919 in Pindall, Arkansas, the son of David F. and Viola Salmon. David was a ditcher engineer for Santa Fe Railroad for 32 years, retiring in 1980. On September 18, 1935 in Pindall, he was united in marriage to Mildred Madgline Trammell. She preceded him in death. He was a member of the Brotherhood Maintenance of Way. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and junking. David"s survivors include: Six children: Mary Ethel Green of Fredonia, KS Vivian Jane Stribling of Cassville, MO Dixie Mae Williams of Fredonia, KS David Salmon Jr. of Wichita, KS Nina Fae Hickox of Benedict, KS Daniel Lloyd Salmon of Fredonia Sisters: Susan and Betty of Arkansas 25 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 52 great-great grandchildren One daughter, Barbara Jean Tillery, one granddaughter, Tiara Li Salmon, and one-step grandson, Jimmy Gill also preceded him in death Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Timmons Funeral Home with Pastor Eldon Myers officiating.
