Dale R. Satran

Dale R. Satran. 66, of Cherryvale, Kansas went to live with his heavenly father Tuesday, March 16, 2021 in Wichita, Kansas.

Dale Richard Satran was born December 2, 1954 in Wakeeney, Kansas the son of Joseph D. Satran and Grace N. (Stewart) Satran.

On July 31, 2017 in Wichita, Kansas he was united in marriage to Phyllis L. Clark and she survives at the home.

He worked at NASA Langley Research Center in Hampton, Virginia as an Aerospace Engineer from 1979 until 1986. He worked at NASA Headquarters in Washington D.C. as a Program Manager from 1986 until 1990. He worked at NASA Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, California as a Supervisory Aerospace Engineer from 1990 until 1994 and as an Aerospace Engineer from 1994 until 2004 when he retired.

In October of 2004 he was the Developmental Registrar and Referee Assignor for the Arvada Soccer Association in Arvada, Colorado.

He went back to work as a Lead Flight Test Analyst in Englewood, Colorado from 2007 until 2008. He later was an Aerodynamics Technical Lead for Hawker Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas. In 2011 he was a Weapons Integration Lead at Beechcraft Defense in Wichita. He later accepted employment with Textron Aviation in 2015 as a Weapon Integration Engineer.

Dale had many publications in the aerospace and aviation workforce.

Dale enjoyed snow skiing, wood working, refereeing soccer and was a certified scuba diver.

He attended the Cherryvale Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife Phyllis of the home, mother, Grace Satran of Wakeeney, Kansas, son Casey Satran of Central Point, Oregon, stepchildren, Jennifer Asbridge (Jacob) of Wichita, Kansas, Nicole Johnson (Tim) of Cherryvale, Kansas, Amanda Miller (Bobby) of Cherryvale, Kansas, siblings, Jim Satran (Deb) of Wakeeney, Kansas, Glenetta Schierding of Overland Park, Kansas, 10 step grandchildren, 1 step grandchild and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father and brother-in-law, Don Schierding.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, March 22, 2021 at the funeral home.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Christian Church and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
