Dale Eugene Becannon

Dale E. Becannon, 81, a lifelong resident of rural Buffalo, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at the Westview Manor in Derby, Kansas. He was born March 23, 1928, west of Buffalo, the son of Rafe O. and Lois Beulah (Childs) Becannon. Dale was a 1946 graduate of Buffalo High School, where he was the valedictorian. For 60 plus years, Dale was a farmer and rancher in the Buffalo area. Since the age of 17, Dale served as a fire fighter with the Buffalo Rural Volunteer fire department. Dale was a #1 fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and his favorite show was Dancing with the Stars. Dale is survived by: one brother, Donald Becannon of Humboldt, Kansas one sister, Lola Ruth Evans of Wichita, Kansas He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Lois Markle. Cremation has been requested. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at the Buffalo Cemetery. A memorial has been established in Dale's name the Buffalo Rural Fire Department and can be sent to the funeral home.
