Colleene Ann Cox

Colleene Ann Cox, 84 a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, since 1946, and formerly of Wellington, Kansas, died Monday, March 16, 2009 at Fredonia Regional Hospital. She was born January 6, 1925 in Newton, Kansas, the daughter of Arthur and Bulah (Murray) Gasper. She was a homemaker. On July 28, 1942 in Champaign, Illinois, she married Lawrence G. Cox. He survives at their home. Colleene was a member of the First Christian Church in Fredonia. Survivors, in addition to her husband, Lawrence, include: One son: Lawrence H. "Butch" Cox of Fredonia, KS One sister: Erin Marcus of Lincoln, NE Three grandchildren: Jon Cox of Fredonia, KS Jeff Cox of Fredonia, KS Cassie LeMasurier of Coconut Creek, FL Three great grandchildren: Austin Farmer Tori Cox Thatcher Cox She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bulah Gasper; one son, Joe Cox; her twin sister and brother-in-law, Collette and Owen McCartney; her brother, Arthur Gasper, Jr.; and her in-laws, George and Ila Cox. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2009 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Carl Thornton officiating. A memorial has been established in Colleene"s name with the American Diabetes Association and donations may be sent to the funeral home. Words of condolences may be left on this website.
