Clara Orlena Jones

Clara Orlena Jones, 81, of Fredonia, died Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Prairie Sunset in Pretty Prairie, Kansas. Clara was born October 21, 1941 in Coyville, Kansas at her childhood home to parents Ralph and Gay (Wilson) Spillman.

On March 24, 1962, she was united in marriage to Jimmie G. Jones in Fredonia, Kansas. To this union were born three daughters, Kathy, Brenda and Diane. Jimmie and Clara were married 55 years before his passing on May 10, 2017.

Clara worked at the County Treasurer Office in Wilson County for 25 years. Clara was a member of the Christian Church of Fredonia, Kansas and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Clara is survived by her daughters, Kathy Wooten, Brenda Ecton and husband Glen, Diane Wooten and husband Paul, sister, Loneta Hooper of Coffeyville, Kansas, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Clara was preceded in death by husband, Jimmie Jones, parents Ralph and Gay Spillman, brother, Jimmy Ray, sister, Sue Ann Hogue, infant son, James George Jones Jr. and daughter, Sheryl Jones.

Funeral services will be held at Wickham Family Funeral Home 2:00 pm, Friday, December 9, 2022, with Mike Jeffers, officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm Friday, December 9, 2022 until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Fredonia City Cemetery.
