Charles Edward Jones

Charles Edward Jones, age 70, of Chanute, Kansas, passed away at his residence on November 1, 2023. Born on May 5, 1953, in Hepler, Kansas, to Edgar and Norma Lee (Cox) Jones, Charles, also known as Charley, had a vibrant and fulfilling life.

Charley was united in marriage to Christy Ann Morgan on May 24, 1974, and they shared many beautiful years together until her passing in 2012. On October 10, 2020, he found love again and married Donna (Hanson) Dye. Charley was a dedicated employee, working for Thermoid as a Machinist for several years before becoming a Delivery Driver for Locke Supply and Chanute Insurance Pool.

An avid motorcycle enthusiast, Charley became a member of the Pegasus Motorcycle Club at a young age. He also had a passion for hunting and fishing, and his grilling talents made him a Master Chef. Charley had a magnetic personality and loved socializing, sharing stories, and enjoying a drink with friends and family. However, his greatest joy and love in life were his four daughters.

Charley is survived by his wife, Donna, and his four daughters: Melissa Jones, Brandy Jones, Sandy Jones, and Desiree Campbell. He is also survived by his brother Carl, wife Evelyn Jones, seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Christy, and a stepson, Morgan Dye.

In memory of Charles, contributions can be made to the Chanute Elks Lodge 806 and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.

Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, November 6, 2023, at 4:00 PM at the Elks Lodge 101 South Central Chanute, Kansas 66720.
