Catherine Coleman

Mary Catherine Coleman, 85, a resident of rural Fredonia, Kansas, died Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Beverly Health & Rehab in Fredonia. She was born April 12, 1920 in St. Luke, Virginia, the daughter of William and Francis (Wine) Weaver. She was a homemaker and helped her husband with their farm. On October 11, 1943 in Richmond, Virginia, she married Lawrence Albert Coleman. He preceded her in death January 1, 1992. Mrs. Coleman loved the outdoors and was an avid gardner. She enjoyed helping to raise the cattle and chickens on the farm and going fishing. Her survivors include: Daughter & Son-In-Law, Joan and Bob Lett of Fredonia, KS; Granddaughters, Meagan Lett of Oakland, CA, and Kate Lett-Deathe and her husband Mike of Shawnee, KS; Two Great Grandchildren; One Sister, Ethel Shirkey of Woodstock, VA; Four Brothers, George Weaver, Wilbur Weaver and Delmer Weaver, all of Woodstock, VA and Alger Weaver of Mount Jackson, VA. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Truman Weaver and Ralph Weaver Graveside services will be held at 1:00P.M. on Friday, December 30, 2005 at the Farmington Cemetery, north of Fredonia, with Rev. Gene Benefiel of the Buxton Christian Church officiating. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Friday, 9:00 A.M.-11:00 A.M. A memorial has been established in her name with the Independence Humane Society and may be sent to the funeral home.
