Carolyn Sue (Matlock) Fulps, 83, of Chanute, Kansas, a beloved mother, devoted wife, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 13, 2024, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. 

 Born on April 15, 1941, in Chanute, Kansas to Eliga Matlock and Eva Pauline (Chase) Matlock, Carol was a vibrant spirit who lit up the lives of everyone she encountered.

 While she was known professionally for her work as a dental assistant, Carol's true passion shone through in her later years when she owned and operated the Hitchinpost Flea Market. She cherished every moment spent interacting with customers and creating a welcoming atmosphere in her beloved market. Her bright and bubbly personality drew people in, leaving them with warm memories of her genuine kindness and enthusiasm for life.

Carol’s life was filled with joy, and her hobbies included quilting, sewing, putting together puzzles, and reading. These hobbies brought her happiness and showcased her creative spirit and ability to find beauty in the world around her.

 On February 28, 1959, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Eddie Fulps. Together, they shared a bond filled with love and support until his passing in 2019. Carol is now reunited with Eddie, as well as her parents, her brothers Randy and Jerry Matlock, and her sister-in-law Judy Shores, who have preceded her in death.

 She leaves behind her cherished family, including her two daughters, Susie (and her husband Randy) Ellis of Erie, Kansas, and Sally Hall of Chanute, Kansas. Two Sisters Judy Hedden (Chanute), and Linda Barker (Hill City) a brother-in-law Steve Fulps (Chanute). Carol was proud of her four grandsons, Bryan Luttrell and his wife Madhu (Overland Park), Brett Luttrell, and his wife Julie (Chanute) Trey Ellis (Overland Park), Kansas, and Garrett Hall (Chanute). Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Owen, Joe, Jake, Lehan, Anaya, Audree, Avarie, and Caden, each of whom brought her immense joy.

Carolyn Sue Fulps will be remembered for her unwavering spirit, positivity, love for family, and the joy she brought to all who knew her. Her light will forever shine in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have called her family and friend.

 Friends and family are invited to celebrate Carol's life at a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute, Kansas, on December 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m.

 Memorials are suggested to Cherry Street Youth Center and can be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
