Carl L. Musgrove Jr.

Carl L. Musgrove Jr., 81, of Independence, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home with family by his side.

Carl Leon Musgrove Jr. was born July 18, 1939 in Independence, Kansas the son of Carl Leon Musgrove Sr. and Clarissa Reynolds Musgrove. He grew up in Independence and attended Independence Schools.

He served 10 years in the United States Army Reserves.

Carl was united in marriage to Evelyn Wambsganss and she preceded him in death December 13, 2006.

On June 9, 2007 in Cherryvale, Kansas he was united in marriage to Joycelyn Wilkinson and she survives at the home.

He worked for Heartland Cement Company in Independence and retired after working over 30 years. He would work evenings at the cement plant and then would trim trees and mow lawns during the day,

Carl enjoyed mowing grass and was good with his hands, he could build or fix anything,

He was a member of Old Fashion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of the home, two sons, Terry Musgrove and Tod Musgrove, foster son, Danny Bentz, stepchildren, Sheila Glaspie, Ronald Bise, Bryan Bise, brother, Tommy Musgrove, sister Donna Huser, 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn Musgrove, two sons, Tim Musgrove and Tony Musgrove, brother, Donnie Musgrove and sister, Shirley Hanson.

Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 9:00 A.M. until service time.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
