CALEB RENE CASTILLEJACaleb R. Castilleja, 17, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 at his home.Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Cherryvale Christian Church, 319 East Main Street, Cherryvale, Kansas with Eric Lang, officiating.Friends may sign the register book from 12Noon until 5:00 P.M Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas." The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 7:30 P.M. Tuesday at the Cherryvale Christian Church.Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, Kansas with honors conducted by the National Guard Honor Guard and Police Last Call by area law enforcement agencies.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Caleb Rene Castilleja scholarship fund and they may be mailed or left at Wickham Family Funeral Home.Caleb Rene Castilleja was born July 31, 1996 at Neosho Memorial Hospital in Chanute, Kansas the son of Rene Castilleja and Nancy (Harper) Castilleja. He attended Labette County High School his sophomore year and was attending Cherryvale High School and was a Senior, Class of 2014.Caleb worked for Subway in Cherryvale for one year." He was a good artist, loved playing games and anything that had to do with military he had a passion for, but his sense of humor was what he is remembered for.He was a member of the Army National Guard and 2013 graduate of the Cherryvale Police Explorer Post #2336 program.Survivors include his parents of the home, sister Isabella Castilleja of the home, maternal grandparents Crystal and the late J.D. Harper, of Cherryvale, paternal grandparents, Alicia Castilleja and Margarito Castilleja of New Braunfels, Texas, uncles and aunts, Michelle Crayton of Milliken, Colorado, Kent and Michelle Harper of Mt. Jackson, Virginia, Scott and Judy Harper of Neodesha, Kansas, Carol and Shahriar Khosravani of Everett, Washington, Jay and Tracie Harper of Cherryvale, Ben and Melinda Harper of Liberty, Kansas, and many cousins and friends.
