Bruce A. Strickland,71, passed away at his residence on Monday, October 28, 2024, in Cherryvale, Kansas.
Bruce Alden Strickland was born on December 17, 1952, in Levelland, Texas, the son of Forrest Strickland and Barbara (Blackburn) Strickland. Bruce graduated from Cherryvale High School in 1971 and attended Independence Community College.
On December 21, 1981, in Miami, Oklahoma he was united in marriage to Jacqueline Mosler, and they later divorced.
For many years, Bruce was a dedicated brick mason with Strickland Masonry, contributing his skills to countless projects until he retired in 2017 due to ill health. He was known for his strong work ethic and craftsmanship.
Bruce had a deep love for spending time with his family, particularly enjoying moments with his grandkids, Morgan and Jack Strickland. He also found joy in hunting and fishing, and he cherished the beauty of the mountains. He was a fan of Raider football and the Kansas City Royals baseball team.
He leaves behind his son, Brett (Aimee) Strickland of Cherryvale, Kansas; step-sons, Josh (Casi) Addis of Cherryvale, Kansas, and Jesse Addis of Oswego, Kansas; siblings, Steve (Linda) Strickland of Cherryvale, Kansas, Janet (Michael) Carter of Mustang, Oklahoma, Tori (James) Armbruster of Cherryvale, Kansas, and Tanna (Greg) Boss of Cherryvale, Kansas; grandchildren, Morgan and Jack Strickland of Cherryvale, Kansas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Strickland and Barbara (Blackburn) Strickland, and his brother, Forrest "Sonny" Strickland.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas 67335. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Cherryvale Christian Church.
Inurnment will follow services at Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Bruce Strickland Scholarship Fund, and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
Bruce will be remembered for his love of family, devotion to his work, and his wisdom and knowledge he passed on or shared.
