Bill Milner

Harold William "Bill" Milner, 85, a lifelong resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Monday, July 28, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Neodesha, Kansas. He was born November 23, 1928, in Fredonia, one of fourteen children to Frank P. and Elsie Pearl (Morgan) Milner. Bill served in the United States Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Throughout the years, Bill owned and operated Citizen Barber Shop, Country House Restaurant, and the Fredonia Pool Hall, and co-owned Wonder Beef Locker. On October 26, 1952 in Fredonia, Bill was united in marriage to Dimalea Loflin. She preceded him in death on May 3, 1993. Bill was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion in Fredonia. His survivors include: Three daughters: Diana & Fred Washburn of Celina, TN Debbie & Ted Voth of New Albany, KS Peggy & Kevin Carr of Fredonia, KS Brothers Jit Milner of Rose Hill, KS David Milner of Erie, KS Sisters: Dema Lipitz of Pueblo, CO Linda McGuire of Stockton, MO Granddaughters: Tena Wright of Fredonia Becky Yount of Mansfield, TX Angela Carr of St. Clairsville, OH Andrea Carr of Fredonia, KS Great Granddaughters: Bethany Wright and Briana Wright of Fredonia, KS Ziva Yount of Mansfield, TX He was also preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Penny Jo Milner; brothers, Carl, Frank, Donald, Melvin, John and Larry Milner; and sisters, Mary Agnes Hudsepth, Leona Jean Hall and Gerry Gulick. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Timmons Funeral Home with Mike Myers officiating. Burial and military rites will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Timmons Funeral Home on Friday, August 1, 2014, 5:00 P.M.-7:00 P.M. Memorials have been established in Bill"s name with the Avenue of Flags and Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and contributions can be sent to or left at the funeral home.
