Berniece "Tooty" Gard, 97, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013 at St. Joseph Residence in New London, Wisconsin. She was born December 1, 1915 on the farm of her parents, Henry and Lulu Kolstrup at Fall River, Kansas. She graduated from Fall River High School. He father died in 1918 and her early years were spent helping her mother on the farm. During World War II, she worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas making planes for our armed forces. After her mother sold the farm, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she worked at Sunshine Biscuit Company. Berniece married Dale Gard in 1964 and they resided in Kansas City and later in Clinton, Missouri. Dale preceded her in death. She is survived by her niece, Evelyn Campbell of Greenville, WI; grandnephews, Greg and Garry Campbell of Greenville, WI; Kurt Morrow of Cleveland, OH; grandnieces, Gina Iverson of Modesto, CA, Sandy Shaft of Cleveland, OH; two step grandchildren and many great-great nieces and nephews, and her special friends Brandon and Patty from California. Her parents; her husband Dale; brother Glen Kolstrup; and sister, Hazel Morrow, preceded her in death. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, April 22, 2013 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Pastor Charlotte Coates of the First United Methodist Church officiating.
