Bernard (Mike) Michael Treiber

Bernard (Mike) Michael Treiber, 70 of Chanute, Kansas passed away May 11, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Bernard was born to Raymond and Dorothy (Johnston) Treiber on January 19, 1953, in Parsons, Kansas.

He graduated from St. Paul Kansas in 1972, and NCCC night school. Following his education, he joined the United States Navy and served his country for 4 years, from 1972 until 1976.

He and Brenda Pack were united in marriage on June 27, 1978, in Hutchison, Kansas. Bernard worked for Thermoid in Chanute as a machine operator. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda of the home, his children; Jimmie Aikins of Iola, KS, Hannah Risner of Independence, KS, Shawn Treiber, Kerri Treiber, and Randall Treiber all of Chanute, KS. His 9-siblings; Carl Treiber of Altamont, KS, Peggy Winter, Bill Treiber, and Donnie Treiber all of St. Paul, KS, Mary Greenough, and Pat Treiber of Parsons, KS, Theresa Obenhaus of Erie, KS, Alice Heflin, of Kansas City, MO, and Tim Treiber of Minneapolis, MN, 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.

Bernard is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, two brothers, Bobby and John Treiber, a sister, Rita Winter, and many nieces and nephews.

The family is planning a memorial service at a later date.
