Bayard N. “Pat” Bell, 92 and 11/12ths, longtime resident of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Wednesday morning, November 28, 2018 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas with his family at his side.
Bayard Norman Bell was born December 28, 1925 in Eureka, Kansas the son of C.C. Bell and Beatrice (Cross) Bell. He grew up in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School in 1943.
On September 25, 1950 in Cherryvale he was united in marriage to Suzann Dwyer and she survives at the home.
Pat worked for the (AT&SF) Santa Fe Railroad as an agent throughout Oklahoma and Kansas. He retired after 42 years at the age of 60.
Pat enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and woodworking. He will be remembered as a kind soul who deeply loved his family and nature.
He was a member of the Christian Church in Perry, Oklahoma and later attended the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church..
Survivors include his wife Suzann of the home, daughter, Leigh Ann Griffin of Cherryvale, Kansas, sister, Connie Sue Osinga of Tullahoma, Tennessee, sister-in-law, Marge Bell of Cookeville, Tennessee, sister-in-law, Harriett Gill, of Neodesha, Kansas, daughter-in-law, Shelly (Bell) Fisher of Beaumont, Texas, grandchildren, Sarah (Bret) Kelley, Niki (Keith) Walker, great-grandchildren, Aleigh Perry, Isaiah Perry, Maddux Kelley, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents, son, Jeffrey Bell and brother, Charles Thayer Bell.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, December 3, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas with Pastor Dick Drumeller officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial remembrances to the Cherryvale Presbyterian Church or the Cherryvale Public Library.
