Barbara J. Hugo, 76, of Cherryvale, KS passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas,Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday September 30, 2013 at Wickham Family Funeral Home of Cherryvale with David Cavaness, Pastor of the New Life Praise and Worship Church, officiating." Friends may sign the register book from 12Noon until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home." The family has asked for visitors to come to the residence of Larry and Julie Stewart, 537 West 4th Street, Cherryvale, Kansas." Interment will be held in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Cherryvale Fire/Rescue Department and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 216 East 4th, Cherryvale, Kansas" 67335.Barbara Jo Hugo was born June 26, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri the daughter of Larkin Hamm and Letha (Braschler) Hamm." She grew up and lived her entire life in Cherryvale graduating for high school in 1955.On August 3, 1957 in Independence, KS she was united in marriage to Don DeWitt and they later divorced." She later was united in marriage to Kenneth Hugo in 1976 in Cherryvale, Kansas and he preceded her in death in 1984.Barbara worked for HD Lee"s in Cherryvale for 20 years in the sewing department." Later she was employed by ACC in Independence for 24 years working in the packing department retiring in 2000.Barbara loved being around her family, traveling and when she could enjoyed her time gambling at the many casinos in the area.Survivors include daughter, Julie Stewart and her husband Larry of Cherryvale, KS, three step daughters, Sandy Berkenmeier of Cherryvale, KS, Shelly Sumner and Kim Barker of Independence, KS, one step son, Brad Hugo of Cherryvale, KS, 2 grandchildren, Crystal and Tim Eccles of Cherryvale, KS, Chris "Chilidog" Johns of Cherryvale, KS, 3 great grandchildren, Anthony, Karla and Joshua of Cherryvale, KS, 2 step grandchildren Tyler Megan Stewart of Cherryvale, KS and close friend, Lorne Case of Cherryvale, KS.
