Archie L Decker

Archie L. Decker, 78, a longtime resident of Fredonia, Kansas, formerly of Parsons, Kansas, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at the Heatherwood Estates in Independence, Kansas. He was born June 16, 1927 in Halstead, Kansas, the son of Abraham and Lena (Dirks) Decker. He was a self employed farmer, retiring in 1992 after 40 years of farming. He was a member of the Church of God In Christ Mennonite, rural Fredonia. On December 30, 1951 in Fredonia, he married Della Schultz. She survives at the home. Survivors, in addition to his wife, Della, include: Four brothers: Elmer Decker of Moundridge, KS; Harvey Decker of Nevada, MO; Ben Decker of Walker, MO; John Decker of Maynard, AR Two sisters: Alta Langer of Trinidad, CO; Elizabeth Miller of Nashville, TN Several nieces and nephews, including James Shultz of Elk City, KS. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, April 3, 2006, at the Church of God In Christ Mennonite. Burial will be in the Emmanuel Cemetery. Friends may call at Timmons Funeral Home on Sunday, 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. A memorial has been established in his name with Emmanuel Christian School Building Fund and may be sent to the funeral home.
