Amy Lanette Mintz, 45, a resident of Independence, Kansas, died Friday, October 2, 2015 as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born November 10, 1969 in Wichita, Kansas, the daughter of Merle E. and Rose Marie (Williams) Mintz. Amy was a 1988 graduate of Derby High School and received a Bachelor of Science and Technology degree from Pittsburg State University in 1992. Prior to moving to Independence, Amy had resided in Derby, Kansas and Boise, Idaho. She had been employed by Cessna and Orscheln Farm and Ranch in Independence and Springer Farms in Sycamore, Kansas. Currently Amy was employed by USD 484-Fredonia as a school bus driver and a route driver for RAM Express, transporting mail to and from Wichita. She was an active member of the Cornerstone Christian Church in Fredonia. Amy was a hard worker who tried to do her best, even when it was not easy or convenient. She was continually looking for ways to help others. She loved to make people laugh. She is survived by: Her parents: Merle and Rose Marie Mintz of Derby, Kansas Grandmother: LaVonne Williams of Independence, Kansas Sister: Dawn Neece of Mulvane, Kansas Niece & Nephew: Victoria and William Neece of Mulvane, Kansas She was also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, countless friends, AND Aiyana Madison Archer, who was loved like a daughter. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at Cornerstone Christian Church, 1005 Golf Course Road, Fredonia, with Pastor Mike Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 A.M. at the church In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made in Amy"s name with Cornerstone Christian Church and contributions can be sent to or left with Timmons Funeral Home.
