Alice Marie Douglas

Alice M. Douglas, 72, of Fredonia, Kansas passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Alice Marie Douglas was born March 13, 1945 in Joplin, Missouri the daughter of Hoyt Henry and Helen (Feiker) Henry. She attended and graduated from Independence Bible School in Independence, Kansas. She later graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Alice also earned a Masters Degree in Education from Emporia State University.
On August 1, 1980 in Bronson, Kansas she was united in marriage to Mike Douglas and he survives at the home.
Alice worked as a middle school teacher in Independence and after many years retired in 2010. She was given The Master Teacher award twice in her years in teaching.
She enjoyed church, playing golf and her family and friends. She will be remembered as a caring and loving wife, mother, grandmother and loved people in general.
Alice was a member of the Parkview Holiness Church, PEO, Fredonia Golf Club and KNEA.
Survivors include her husband Mike of the home, sons, Chris Hoose and his wife Paula of Wichita, Kansas and their children, Dalton, Victoria, Danica and Elizabeth, Devon Douglas and his wife Ruthe of Shawnee, Kansas and their children, Payton and Bennett, Eric Douglas of Fredonia, Kansas, siblings, Mary Sue Sharples of Carthage, Missouri, Doris Chrisenbery of Olathe, Kansas, Phyllis Darbro of Dallas, Texas, David Henry of Lawrence, Kansas, Rodger Henry of Lawrence, Kansas, George Henry of DeSoto, Kansas, Karol May of Independence, Kansas and Joy Campbell of Olathe, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janice Henry.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
Celebration of Life Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M., Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the First Christian Church in Fredonia.
Interment will follow services at Altoona Cemetery, Altoona, Kansas.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Parkview Holiness Church or Independence Bible School and they may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
