Agnes Black, 92, a resident of Fredonia, Kansas, died Friday, September 15, 2006 at the Lifecare Center of Andover in Andover, Kansas. She was born July 2, 1914 in Garden Plain, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Scheer) Sommerhauser. She was a homemaker and a farmer"s wife. On December 27, 1933 in Cheney, Kansas she married Chester P. Black. He preceded her in death June 11, 1983. She was a member of the Roman Catholic Church and the Community Ladies Club. Her Survivors include: Three Sons: Chester Paul Black Jr. of Couer d"Alene, ID Roger Black of Wichita, KS Joe Black of Fredonia, KS One Daughter: Evonne Duff of New Castle, DE One Brother: Sam Sommerhauser of Seal Beach, CA Ten Grandchildren, Nineteen Great Grandchildren and One Great-Great Grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters. Cremation has taken place and graveside memorial services will be held at 10:00A.M. on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at the Fredonia City Cemetery with Father Stephen Baxter of the Sacred Heart Church in Fredonia officiating. A memorial has been established in her name with the Fredonia Flag Fund and may be sent to the funeral home.
