Aden E. Hogan Sr.

September 4, 1928 — December 5, 2017

Aden E. Hogan Sr., 89, of Shawnee, Kansas, formerly of Fredonia, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord December 5, 2017 at Sharon Lane Nursing Home in Shawnee.

Aden Elsworth Hogan Sr. was born September 4, 1928 in Sedan, Kansas the son of Chester Hogan and Birdie McAfee.

On May 12, 1950 in Fredonia, Kansas he was united in marriage to Maxine Buchanan and she preceded him in death April 4, 1996.

He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was awarded a Presidential Unit Citation and later was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant. He then attended Barber College in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was a self-employed Barber in Fredonia for 45 years retiring in 2001. He loved to travel and fish.

Aden was a member of the Bible Baptist Church in Fredonia for 50 plus years serving as Sunday School Superintendent, Deacon, and Church Song Leader. He was a leader in the community serving as the Kiwanis Club President, Police Reserve, Homecoming Official, and a Life Member of the VFW and American Legion.

Survivors include his children Aden Jr. (Anne) Hogan of Commerce City, Colorado, Clifford (Patricia) Hogan of Independence, Kansas, David (Sharalyn) Hogan of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Ruth (Ron) Morgan, Merriam, Kansas. He is also survived by two brothers Carl Hogan of Neodesha, Kansas, Vernon Hogan of Arkansas City, Kansas, and one sister Twilla Smith of Arkansas City, Kansas; 9 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and one sister, Carol Mayhill.

Visitation will be held
Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 4-6 PM at Wickham Family Funeral Home

Funeral Services will be held
Monday, December 11, 2017 at 1:30 PM at the Bible Baptist Church

Military Rites will follow with the Fort Riley Honor in the Fredonia City Cemetery.

Memorial remembrances are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation or Bible Baptist Church and they may be left or mailed to Wickham Family Funeral Home, 510 N. 7th, Fredonia, Kansas 66736.
